August 3: Hot Summer Weekend

First weekend in August and there’s no doubt summer isn’t over. The afternoon high today in Nashville reached 92° and there is more of the same to come.
The trough of low pressure that has been keeping us in the clouds with a few showers is moving on.  A big area of high pressure is taking over.  That high will shift our winds back to a southerly direction and that means more humidity.
Rain chances stay low both Saturday and Sunday with slightly better rain chances on Sunday.  Highs will top out in the 90’s each day.
This is typical summer weather.
The chance of rain increases the beginning of next week as our next front moves in from the west. Right now, rain chances are around 40% Tuesday through Thursday. Afternoon highs will be near 90 degrees each day.
