July 22: July Heat Break

Feeling more like mid September than late July, as temperatures run 5-8 degrees below average.  Today’s high only reached 81°, that’s 8° below the average. The clouds and showers contributed to this nice little heat break.

Tonight, some showers will linger through midnight. Most of the rain will be east of I-24. Here’s the latest Futurecast depiction for tonight.

Monday morning will be mainly dry with a few showers to the east.  Beware of early Monday morning on the Cumberland Plateau…dense fog may be an issue.  Expect a partly sunny sky Monday afternoon with additional spotty showers and thundershowers. It won’t be a washout though.  Folks to the west won’t see much at all. Here’s an idea of what to expect on Futurecast.

Temperatures will remain 5-8 degrees below average. That is a treat for late July.  High in Nashville at 83°.

The best chance for thundershowers will shift even more to the east of I-65 by Tuesday.  Most communities will remain dry Wednesday – Friday.
Wednesday things start to warm back up into the upper 80s.  Thursday and Friday will be hot, with highs around 90.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will return to Middle Tennessee next weekend.
I’ll have an update on News 4 at 10pm.
