There are 4 things you should know about our weather. They are…
1) Spotty showers and thunderstorms are likely again today.
As of 9:30am, clouds were already filling in across most of Middle Tennessee.
The sun has warmed many areas to around 80 degrees. Eventually, with a little more heating, showers and thunderstorms will begin developing. Take a look at FUTURECAST for the rest of today. Severe weather is unlikely. More likely we’ll just have small clusters of rain/storms, moving from southeast toward the northwest.
2) Temperatures will remain BELOW average for one more day.
The average high is 89 degrees today in Nashville. I expect a high of 88. Yesterday was only 87. Don’t get used to this though. Already by tomorrow, highs in the low 90s will return.
3) Tuesday brings another good chance for rain and thunderstorms.
As another cold front (albeit weak) settles into the Mid State, rain and thunderstorms will become more widespread on Tuesday. After Tuesday, rain will be harder to come by for the rest of the week — especially on Thursday and Friday.
4) Hotter weather will close out the week.
Late this week, as a hot core of high pressure settles overhead, the rain chance will in the Mid State will decrease, while temperatures increase. Notice how on Friday we expect mid 90s for highs.
Join us on News4 at 5pm today. Cody Murphy will track the showers and storms in the Mid State. He’ll also share the latest on two tropical systems we’re monitoring in the Atlantic basin.
