A warm, muggy and relatively quiet start to our Tuesday morning. Areas well northwest of Nashville, along the KY/TN border got hit with some loud thunder and heavy downpours way early this morning! Those are now out the door.
Speaking of out the door, here’s a peak out from our Servpro camera. Not too shabby..
Real Time Red is only picking up a few very isolated showers across the Mid State at 8:11 am here..
Don’t let this fool you! We’ll have a few rounds of scattered showers and storms this afternoon and this evening. If you’re heading out to the pool.. enjoy! If you hear thunder, run inside wait 30 minutes then get back out there. It will be hot and muggy with highs in the lower 90s today..
Here’s the timing on the rain with Futurecast..
Heat and humidity will combine to destabilize the atmosphere. A few storms could reach severe criteria with damaging wind and hail as the greatest threats. Heavy pockets of rain may lead to the potential of localized flooding.
Meteorologist Dan Thomas will have the latest timing on the storms today coming up at noon on News 4 today.
Have a Blessed day!
