Change is on the way with some rain moving in, but how about this day? Fantastic! With abundant sunshine the high reached 83°. Tonight will be pleasant. Tomorrow, expect more clouds with a few showers and thunderstorms. Not all areas will receive rain….just some. Right now the most likely spot for rain and thunderstorms is east of I-65 according to the latest Futurecast model run. Less than a half inch of rain is likely.
A few thunderstorms could become strong with high wind and small hail.
Thursday, count on a few lingering showers and storms. Still warm in the mid 80s.
Friday will turn very hot, with highs in the upper 80s and isolated showers and storms.
Saturday will be dry with highs near 90. This will be the hottest weather so far this year.
Sunday will be similar, although a line of showers and storms will move in from the north during the late afternoon or evening. A few storms will linger into Monday.
On a side note, the weather will be great for some sky viewing tonight. Earth moves between the Sun and the planet Jupiter tonight. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and one of the brightest. This passage will put Jupiter opposite of the sun, so now it is rising in the east as the Sun is setting in the west. This is called “opposition” and it is the best time of the year to see Jupiter. It will be visible all night. If you are away from city lights, you will be able to see the constellation, Libra.
Join me on my facebook page tonight at 9pm, we will take a look together at the night sky and talk about the weather. Then I’ll have an update on News4 at 10pm.
