April 25: Rain Tomorrow, Sunny Weekend

Hump day ended up being a nice day. The high reached 71° this afternoon with some sunshine early in Nashville. .  The clouds have filled in now for most of the mid state.  Plan on one more rainy day before sunshine returns for the weekend.
Tonight, a few more showers will be likely as the next weather system, moves in. Rain will expand toward dawn and move across much of Middle Tennessee. Here’s the latest timing on the rain with Futurecast.

A break from the rain is welcomed since the total rainfall for April has been well above average in Nashville. 5.43″ has fallen for the month, that’s 2.20″ more than average. Murfreesboro has had nearly 5″ of rain in some spots over the past several days.

The good news, rainfall totals are not expected to be that high tomorrow, so that shouldn’t contribute to additional flooding. The greatest rainfall amounts will be south of I-40.

An isolated shower will be possible again Friday afternoon. Overall however, Friday looks like a very nice day.
Then, Saturday through Tuesday look dry and pleasant. Temperatures will climb through the 70s and eventually into the 80s.
