Our weather’s about to turn wintry this weekend. Then, get this — near 80-degree temperatures return next week!
Outdoors this morning as of 9am temperatures are in the 40s and 50s.
It’s raining in Nashville and southeastward down I-24. Over southeastern Middle Tennessee there are actually some pockets of heavier rain.
Notice farther west, more showers are lurking back into Arkansas, coming this way. Those make up round two of rain for today, moving in this afternoon.
FUTURECAST isn’t perfect, but shows the general trend of that second wave of rain gradually moving in later. Count on a wet afternoon and evening commute and across much of the Mid State.
Highs today will be in the 50s and lowermost 60s.
A sharp cold front will pass through this evening allowing very cold air to settle in by dawn tomorrow.
The wind chill early Saturday will only be in the 20s!
FUTURECAST shows how that colder air will also turn rain showers over to a mix of rain, sleet, and snow early tomorrow morning.
Highs tomorrow afternoon will be in the 40s, but it’ll feel like the 30s at best!
Early Sunday, expect another freeze. Nashville will dip to 30 degrees, but most communities will bottom out in the 20s! Then, late next week it’ll warm into the 70s once again, which by then will be average for the middle of April.
Be sure to watch later today on News4 for an update on where the rain is and where it’s headed next. In the meantime, have a fantastic Friday!
