April 5: Rain & Winter Mix Ahead

Clouds are moving into Middle Tennessee ahead of the next front that is set to arrive tomorrow with a mixed bag of weather.  Today with a south wind and sunshine early on, Nashville reached 57°. Tonight there will be a few breaks in the clouds, but more clouds will fill in.  It won’t be as cold tonight as this morning’s 33°.  Tomorrow morning will be about 44.

Rain chances are on the rise for Friday with showers moving in by late afternoon. Showers will be heavy at times Friday night. Here is the latest Futurecast with timing on the rain.

Saturday morning we could see a wintry mix of sleet/freezing rain and snow in northern TN & southern KY. Accumulation will be low but roads in those areas could be slick Saturday morning.

The wind chill early on Saturday will be in the 20s.

There is improvement for the second half of the weekend, Sunday will turn milder, with a clearer sky and warmer temperatures. More rain returns Monday but Tuesday looks pleasant.
