March 26: Wet Week Ahead

After a brief break, rain returns in a big way this week. Today was cloudy with very little rain, Nashville’s high reached 60°, that is 4° below the average for this time of year. Warmer weather returns this week.

Breezy and cloudy conditions for this evening,  the low will only drop to about 50°. Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy and warmer with highs in the upper 60s.  An approaching front will spread rain into Middle Tennessee Tuesday night and it will stick around through Thursday. Here’s the latest Futurecast timing on the approach of the front.

2-4 inches of rain expected in general along with some embedded thunderstorms. This could trigger some localized flooding. The good news is that we haven’t had any hefty amounts of rain lately so our streams and rivers should be able to handle the additional water.

Both Wednesday and Thursday’s highs will climb to the upper 60s. Showers will exit on Friday, expect a few to linger into the morning.  The high Friday will be a little cooler on the back side of the front.

It’ll be partly cloudy and dry on Saturday. We’ll have a few spotty showers possible on Easter Sunday. Highs over the weekend will be in the mid-upper 60s with lows generally in the 40s.
