It is the first day of Spring but it feels like winter. Temperatures will continue to fall tonight to freezing by morning. Today’s high was 56° recorded at 1:46 PM at Nashville International. By 4 PM it was 42°. A Freeze Warning is in effect for the mid state from 1:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Lingering rain from yesterday is changing to snow showers tonight.
That snow will continue into early Wednesday morning in Southern Kentucky, our northern counties in Tennessee, and on the Plateau. With that in mind a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Plateau, some Southern KY and some northern TN counties from 10:00 PM tonight until 10:00 AM Wednesday.
Here is the latest timeline on the snow with Futurecast.

Cool, but sunny weather continues throughout the work week. Rain chances ramp up this weekend.

I’ll have an update on tonight’s cold wintry weather on News 4 at 10pm.
