Brrr! Spring has Sprung

It is the first day of Spring but it feels like winter. Temperatures will continue to fall tonight to freezing by morning. Today’s high was 56° recorded at 1:46 PM at Nashville International. By 4 PM it was 42°. A Freeze Warning is in effect for the mid state from 1:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

That snow will continue into early Wednesday morning in Southern Kentucky, our northern counties in Tennessee, and on the Plateau. With that in mind a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Plateau, some Southern KY and some northern TN counties from 10:00 PM tonight until 10:00 AM Wednesday.

As  you might expect, the Cumberland Plateau and the Highland Rim will receive some snow accumulations. The Jamestown estimate may be overdone, but I think that is the most likely spot for significant accumulation.

Cool, but sunny weather continues throughout the work week. Rain chances ramp up this weekend.

A recap from last night’s severe weather. An EF2 has been confirmed in Ardmore, Alabama, that is on the Tennessee and Alabama border. Some homes were heavily damaged but thankfully no deaths. Here are the images as that storms tracked along the border.
