March 10: Mild but rainy weekend

Good Saturday morning, everyone!

We were off to a much warmer start today than what we saw yesterday…. We woke up to temperatures in the mid 40s. Yesterday, we woke up to below freezing temps, so that was a nice change.

But just like yesterday, we’ll continue to warm up to around average temps for this time of the year: upper 50s to low 60s!

SKY1 Afternoon

If you have any Saturday night plans, grab a light jacket.  It will be cool tonight but I think we’ll be free of the rain by dinner time.

SKY1 Evening

The scattered showers this morning look like they’ll break up throughout the afternoon. You could see a light pop-up shower, but it shouldn’t stick around for long.  However, the clouds will be with us all day.

DON’T FORGET!!!!  Tonight we “spring forward” for Daylight Saving Time.

We will lose an hour of sleep, but we’ll gain an hour of daylight for the next several months.  (Ahhh, spring is just around the corner!)

Daylight Saving Time

As far as tomorrow, I think temperatures will be similar to today’s… upper 50s, maybe some low 60s out there….

However the rain will come back in full force.

Expect heavy rain showers all afternoon and night, with an isolated thunderstorm possible, as well. Here’s the timeline as of now:

Temperatures will really cool off to around freezing Sunday night into Monday morning. That means areas along the Plateau and Southern Kentucky could see a rain/snow mix overnight into Monday morning.  Just use caution during your morning commute Monday… there could be a few slick spots on the roads because of it.

We’ll really dry out Monday though with lots of sunshine, but cooler.  We’ll see cooler temps in the low 50s Monday – Wednesday, before a warm-up back to the 60s for Thursday and Friday.

Have a great weekend and stay dry!
