After a quick burst of snow overnight, a few rain showers will move in Friday, followed by an even better chance for rain this weekend.
Overnight, snow paid a visit to many areas in Middle Tennessee, especially along and east of I-24. This was the view from Sparta early this morning:
While we had partial clearing for a time, clouds have moved back in for many of us. Other spots are sunny though (mainly southwest of I-24)!
It’s still cold as of 10am.
This afternoon won’t be much warmer either. Highs will range from the upper 30s to the mid 40s under a variably cloudy sky.
Tonight, as the many of these clouds move out, temperatures will fall to their lowest point in a month!
Tomorrow will be milder — in the 50s. However, a few rain showers will also develop, primarily along and north of I-40 during the afternoon.
Then, Saturday into Sunday even more rain will move in. This weekend won’t be a washout. Instead, the rain showers or periods of rain will be more sporadic.
After the weekend rain system clears Middle Tennessee early Sunday, brighter but cooler weather will move in for the first half of next week.
Watch today on News4 at Noon. We’ll update you on the rain timing for this weekend and will take a look at more snowfall pictures from overnight.
