March 6: Spring to Winter in a Day

It’s been a Tuesday Treat, sunny, breezy and mild. The afternoon high today in Nashville reached 64°.  Winds today have been whipping with gusts of 25-30 mph. This spring-like day is a one and only for the week.

Another front approaches late tonight and clears the area around midnight spreading colder air across the area. There will be a wintry mix of rain and snow along the Tennessee and Kentucky line and along the Cumberland Plateau. There could be a few lingering flurries in the that general area throughout the early part of the day. The latest Futurecast shows the timing and track of the winter precipitation.

It will be another breezy day with winds blowing from the northwest.

Wednesday to Friday will be mainly dry and very cool with warmer air Friday. This weekend, rain returns but temperatures will be mild. 1-2″ of rain is possible with a few rumbles of thunder possible.
