Possible Severe Thunderstorms Tonight

4WARN Weather Alert in effect through the weekend for the threat of flooding & for the potential for strong-severe thunderstorms tonight.

Flood Watch in effect for 2/3 of the Mid State through Sunday morning.


Heavy rain will continue throughout the day with isolated thunderstorms this afternoon… before strong, severe thunderstorms move in tonight.

What to Expect

The potential of any severe weather will be later tonight as the system moves into middle Tennessee, moving west to east.  It will be noisy with lots of thunderstorms. The main threats are damaging winds, flooding, and a low threat of isolated tornadoes.

Here’s the timeline:


Despite the rain, it will be very warm.  Highs today range from the low to mid 70s. It will also be very windy with south winds 15-25 MPH and gusty.
