There are 4 things to know about our weather. They are…
1) More record heat’s expected today!
After a record high in the mid 70s yesterday, we’ll make a run at the record again today. We’ve got a nice jump start this morning! The temperatures below are as of 7am…
Expect a mix of high clouds and sunshine today, with gusty southerly winds.
Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 70s and lowermost 80s. Today’s high temperature record is 78, set in 2014.
2) Rain returns tomorrow.
The major weather system west of us this morning will move into Middle Tennessee early tomorrow.
Rain arrive in the Mid State overnight and reach Nashville as the morning commute winds down tomorrow.
Expect SOME heavy downpours and possibly a little thunder and lightning.
3) Temperatures tumble with the rain.
As rain begins, temperatures will start falling tomorrow. That means it’ll be cool all day over northwestern Middle Tennessee. Temperatures there will be locked in the 50s. Nashville should get to around 70, then cool back to the upper 50s by late afternoon. Southeastern Middle Tennessee will stay very warm all day, eventually having highs in the mid 70s! Meanwhile, Paris should drop into the upper 40s by late afternoon.
4) More rain’s expected this weekend.
Another round of rain’s on the way for this weekend. Scattered showers and a few thundershowers will be possible Saturday. Saturday night will bring the best chance of rain, with thunderstorms, some of which could contain damaging straight line wind. On Sunday, showers will exit early, to make for decreasing clouds during the afternoon.
