Here’s something interesting. Our temperatures early this morning were higher here in Middle Tennessee than in West Palm Beach, FL, Orlando, and at Daytona Beach. It was actually a full 15 degrees warmer here than in Jacksonville! Temperatures will climb even further this afternoon before they plummet tomorrow, with some rain.
Here’s the way things stand as of 8am today.
It’s mostly cloudy, with a few sunny breaks here and there.
4WARN Live Doppler Radar shows a few rain showers too.
Later today, the wind will increase and become gusty (to 35 mph). Temperatures will climb into the 70s, getting very close to the record of 77 set back in 1945.
Tonight will stay mild as temperatures hold in the 60s. Then, early tomorrow, it’ll begin cooling down around dawn. Many areas will begin the day in the 50s, only to fall back into the low-mid 40s during the late afternoon, so be sure to take a jacket before leaving the house in the morning.
Rain will move through with this temperature change, too. Notice how the showers will gradually push from northwest toward the southeast tomorrow afternoon. A few wet snowflakes could also theoretically mix in northwest of Nashville then, as well. Where that does happen though, the snow won’t stick (the air and ground will be far too warm).
Saturday looks wet and cool too as another rain system moves through. Sunday will be completely different — brighter and milder with just a few brief passing showers possible. Notice the warm-up on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Widespread rain will return Wednesday.
Join me later today on News4 at Noon. I’ll have the latest on the warm-up and an updated FUTURECAST to look at for tomorrow’s rain.
