Feb 10: Soggy Saturday & Sunday

Grab the umbrella!

We’re waking up to a lot of rain throughout the midstate this morning… and it will continue to soak us until tomorrow.  Expect some of these downpours to be very heavy at times, triggering a Flood Watch for most all of the midstate.

Despite the rain, temperatures will be mild and above average today– reaching 60 in Nashville!  Upper 50s for most everyone else.

Here’s a look at the latest timeline of when the rain will be the heaviest… and when it will finally push out of Middle Tennessee:

However, we’re not in the clear just yet.  Every single day in the 7-day forecast has a *chance* of rain in it.  I’m thinking out next big rain event will come on Thursday.

As the rain pushes out tomorrow, temperatures will take a nose dive for most… and we’ll see a wide range of temperatures from the upper 30s to low 60s!

  1. Fred says:

Well, the month of February is certainly making up for the rather dry conditions of the preceding 2+ months. Saturday’s rainfall of 2.69″ obliterated the previous record of 1.08 inches set 105(!) years ago. As of today (Sunday), month-to-date precipitation is 5.81, well above the monthly average of 3.94 for February and forecast calls for more rain in the week ahead. Just 11 days into the month, already, there have been 8 days of measurable precipitation, equaling January’s total and surpassing that of December (7). Over the last three weeks or so, there have been few cold days, with more mild weather in store, seems that winter has turned into (soggy) early spring way ahead of schedule.
