4WARN Weather Alert is in effect tomorrow through Sunday for the threat of flooding this weekend. Rain arrives late tonight and expands tomorrow. Too bad we can’t have a repeat of today. It was incredibly mild and breezy for a February day, the high reached 66°, that’s 16° above the average.
Rain is the reality for the weekend, there’s a Flood Watch in effect starting Saturday morning and continuing into early Sunday. Watch out for flooding that could develop.
Checking the latest Futurecast, the rain approaches from the southwest and moves northeast. You can expect some heavy downpours that could trigger localized flooding. There will be a gradual rise of creeks and rivers. Beware of flooding threats in low-lying areas that are prone to flooding. And remember that saying, “turn around don’t drown” if you encounter water standing over the road.
Rain gradually exits Sunday as it turns cooler. Temperatures will fall in the afternoon Sunday.
Monday will be seasonable with a few showers possible early. Tuesday will be pleasant with very little chance of rain and a mild high around 60.
Much warmer air takes over Wednesday and Thursday, with highs approaching 70 on Thursday. A chance will remain both of those days. I’ll have an update on News 4 at 10pm.
