A 4WARN Weather Alert will go into effect at noon today for a flood threat we’ll have this weekend.
Today however will be beautiful! Outdoors now (as of 8am) temperatures continue their climb.
It’s mostly sunny, with just a few high clouds…
Highs this afternoon will be in the 60s. It’ll turn breezy. South winds will gust to around 20 mph by mid morning. Clouds will gradually increase this afternoon, too.
Now to the flooding threat…
Rain will move in from the south tonight and expand northward.
A Flood Watch goes into effect tomorrow and will continue all weekend for all but our westernmost communities.
Rain will be heavy at times tomorrow, too. Watch out for roads covered in water. Remember — turn around; don’t drown! Even where there’s no Flood Watch, expect steady rain, occasionally heavy.
Rain finally clears the area Sunday afternoon. By late Sunday afternoon, notice how much rain will have fallen…
Sunday will turn quite a bit cooler too, with highs only in the 40s for much of the Mid State. It’ll be slightly milder over far southeastern Middle Tennessee.
Join me later today on News4 at Noon! I’ll show an updated FUTURECAST to make sure you have the very latest on the timing and placement of the heaviest rain this weekend.
Make it a great Friday!
