After a spring like day, more winter like weather will return as the weekend approaches. Today in Nashville, the high reached 59°. There was a strong south wind throughout the day. Tonight the breezy conditions will continue, clouds will increase, so it won’t be as cold, lows in the 40s.
Tomorrow, expect rain showers. Before the system exits, a brief changeover to wet snow will be possible for a bit well northeast of Nashville especially, tomorrow evening. Here is the latest Futurecast timing on the rain. Most of the rain will be south and east of Nashville.
A dusting to nearly 1″ is possible on the Cumberland Plateau.
It’ll be colder on Friday as temperatures return to the 30s for highs, below average for this time of year, which is 48°. By the way Friday is Groundhog Day and if it’s a local groundhog it will likely see it’s shadow.
Saturday will be cool with increasing clouds. Showers will develop late Saturday afternoon or evening. Sunday that weather system will continue to slide through as a rain/snow mix. The best chance of snow will be over our northernmost counties.
I’ll have an update on News 4 at 10pm.
