There are 4 things to know about our upcoming weather. They are…
1) Colder weather’s in store the next two days!
Temperatures both today and tomorrow will be noticeably cooler than yesterday, when we had a high of 59 degrees. Outside as of 11am, it’s mainly in the 40s. Colder air’s spilling in from the northwest though and will continue to do so on a gusty northwesterly wind this afternoon.
Highs for most today will be in the 40s.
2) Sprinkles and a few snow showers are possible later today.
4WARN Live Doppler shows a few light showers arriving from the north.
Clouds are returning to our northwestern communities too. Those clouds will continue to build southward through the afternoon.
As the cold air gets more firmly entrenched on our area this evening, a few light rain showers will turn to snow showers on and near the Cumberland Plateau. A dusting will be possible there between dinnertime and midnight, mainly on cars and rooftops.
3) Springlike weather will return on Wednesday.
Temperatures will zoom back to around 60 on Wednesday. Don’t be fooled into thinking the morning won’t be cold though. That morning will likely begin in the 20s.
4) Rain’s likely to return on Thursday.
Rain will move back into Middle Tennessee on Thursday. It’s even possible there’s a brief changeover to a rain/snow mix or a period of wet snow before the precipitation ends early Friday morning.
