Good Saturday morning, everyone!
I hope you’re spending the morning staying cozy indoors… because it’s VERY cold today… and will stay cold throughout the entire weekend.
We got some significant snowfall yesterday!
Overnight, snow accumulated on top of a layer of ice in many locations– especially west of I-65. Snowfall totals range from about 1″ in Nashville to 3″ in Clarksville and over 6″ in Paris, TN. The southeast portions of the midstate only saw a light dusting.
The snowfall that we saw yesterday will stick around today… that’s because temperatures won’t break freezing today. Only the upper 20s for the forecast high today. So it’s extra important to be careful on the roads today. Many patches of ice still in neighborhood areas and on back roads.
We’re not in the clear just yet, either. Our next round of snow moves in late Monday night (MLK Day) into Tuesday morning. As of now, the models show a widespread system covering most of the midstate during the overnight hours. Stay tuned for updates as time gets closer!
Have a wonderful day!

The estimate of snowfall in Jamestown, TN, may be off a bit. We have 2 tenths of an inch of snow in Byrdstown, and there’s a CoCoRaHS report from south of Jamestown of only 0.7-in snow.
