Our Coldest Morning so Far

A painfully cold wake up this morning! In fact, our coldest day of the season. Nashville dropped to 5 degrees with a wind chill of -7. Last time that happened was February 19th, 2015. We even hit a record in Crossville! With a temperature of 1 degree, breaking the old one of 3 degrees set back in 1977.

8:39am as I type here and temperatures are running in the single digits, feeling more like FIVE BELOW ZERO in Nashville…ouch!2018 AMShow_DMA TEMPS2018 AMShow_DMA WIND CHILL

With such bitter cold, you’ll want to cover all skin this morning. If skin is left exposed for over thirty minutes, you’ll run the risk of frostbite. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY remains in effect until noon for the entire region.2018 WATCH1

Daytime highs run about twenty degrees cooler than average, only touching the upper 20s. 2018 DAYPlanner SKYDaytime

Sunshine and bitter cold looks to be on cruise control through the first half of the weekend. Sunshine brings clouds, spotty showers and warmer temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s into Monday. 2018 7 Day AM

I’ll have an update on the rain this weekend coming up on News 4 at noon today! Hope you  join me.
