Coffee didn’t do the trick this morning? Try stepping outside! Bone chilling start to our week with temperatures in the teens, feeling more like the single digits. Alright, everyone back inside. 🙂
Daytime highs will run ten degrees cooler than average in the upper 30s. The bright side will be the bright sunshine we can glaze at outside our office window. We’ll have plenty of it all day.
If you’re heading out to the Music City Bowl tomorrow to watch the Kentucky Wildcats take on the Northwestern Wildcats, plan on wearing warm winter gear — a coat, boots, scarf and maybe even some hand warmers. The game starts at 3:30pm and temperatures will run in the lower 40s. By the end of the game, it will be near freezing!
This cold spell is here to stay for the days ahead. In fact, a secondary cold front will drop temperatures by a good ten degrees going into the second half of the weekend, with highs only touching the upper 20s on Sunday into the New Year (ouch). As of now precipitation chances look slim on Sunday but the few showers expected will be in the form of light snow/flurries. Little to no accumulation expected at this time…still room for change as time gets closer.
You’ll want to stay tuned for updates every day! I’ll have one on News 4 at noon today.
