Bitterly cold weather tonight with another cold blast coming later this week. Today the high reached 29° in Nashville, yes, it stayed below freezing all day. Tonight, temperatures will bottom out in the teens and even a few single digits. This will be the coldest air we have had since January 8.
Tomorrow and Friday will be more tolerable with highs around 40. The wind shouldn’t be a factor. The drier airmass and the sunshine will aide with the quick warm up. But it will still be cold for the Music City Bowl Friday at Nissan Stadium featuring the Kentucky Wildcats and the Northwestern Wildcats.
Then, even colder weather will move in for the weekend. From Saturday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon of next week temperatures will likely remain below freezing.
Sunday a few flurries are possible. The first day of 2018 will remain in the 20s.
On a different note, if you can bundle up enough to get outside, the International Space Station will be a good pass. It’s early though, 5:44 AM, Visible: 6 min, Max Height: 71°, Appears: 15° above SW, Disappears: 10° above NE.
I’ll have a weather update on News 4 at 10pm.
