Did you get new winter weather gear for Christmas?  You will need it. 2017 is wrapping up on a cold note. Today in Nashville the temperature reached 42°, 5° below the average. A dry front will move through tonight. That means Wednesday will turn colder, the morning lows will be a wake up call dropping to 23°, with the wind chill factor in the single digits.

Thursday and Friday will also be chilly, the morning lows will tumble to the teens. The afternoon temperatures with be below average, but even colder air is on the way.

This weekend, an arctic blast  will arrive into the Mid State. This could be some of the coldest air of the season. We could even see some single digit lows for the first few days of 2018.

A few snow flurries or snow showers will be possible on Sunday. New Year’s Eve (during the evening) will be frigid.  New Year’s Day will likely feature temperatures in the 20s for highs.

I’ll have an update on the weather on News 4 at 10pm.
