Today was cloudy, dry and unseasonably mild, high in Nashville reached 57°. The clouds stick around tonight and so does the mild air, thanks to a south wind.  A few showers moving in overnight.

As a front approaches and an area of low pressure moves in from the southwest rain becomes more widespread Friday. The heaviest rain will arrive late Friday night. The rain will be lingering into Saturday. Here’s the latest Futurecast timing.

We are talking about rainfall totals of 2-4″ possible with some isolated areas receiving more, that’s why flooding is a big concern.  If you live in a low lying area, near a creek or river and especially if you live in an area that is prone to flooding, you’ll want to really stay weather aware the weekend.
