Bone Chilling

A cloudy and windy start to our morning!

So far, not a whole lot in the precipitation department. There has been a few rain/snow mix showers and a few very light snow showers, mainly east…not enough to amount to any accumulations across the Mid State. I expect much of the same to wrap up the morning, with a clearing trend through the afternoon.

The wind? Here to stay!

Breezy northwesterly winds have gusted as high as 29 mph, packing a punch on how it really feels out there. WSMV DMA TEMPS ZOOM1_EffectSquiggle Autoplot

Upper 30s to lower 40s FEELING as low as the lower 20s for our eastern counties — most areas have a wind chill in the upper 20 to upper 30-degree range.WSMV DMA WINDCHILL STILL1

With a passing cold front, temperatures won’t budge! I expect daytime highs in the upper 30 to lower 40s region-wide…again feeling more like the low 20 to low 30s.DT 4 RPM 12KM WindChill

Temperatures continue to drop low tonight. Cold enough for a heavy coat when you wake up early Wednesday morning. Lows in the lower 20s will feel like the teens! Ouch!

We’ll warm up back to average in the upper 40s Wednesday and Thursday before our next approaching system drops temperatures once again! I’ll have the full breakdown on which areas will feel the coolest and how our weekend is shaping up coming up at noon today.
