Cold weekend before a brief warm-up

Good morning!! Hope everyone is staying warm as we wake up to temps in the teens and low 20s all across the midstate.  As if those temps aren’t bad enough…. the wind chill is making us feel even worse! As of 7:00 AM, it feels like 12° in Nashville. Brrr!!

Just a reminder that snow flurries could be possible late morning into late afternoon– mainly for folks along the southern KY/TN border and in the Cumberland Plateau.  We’ll eventually get to the low 40s in Nashville. Our southwestern counties will see mid-40s for highs… but out northeastern counties will only see upper 30s for highs today.  It will be very windy– with some wind gusts up to 25 MPH.

Paul Skycast Afternoon - NEW

This bitterly cold stretch will last throughout the weekend.  Even though our highs will be in the low to mid 40s, it will feel like freezing or below all weekend long.  Overnight lows will be dangerously cold in the low 20s and teens in some spots. We’ll see a brief “warm up” on Monday– with a forecasted high of 55°!!– before our next cold front moves in on Tuesday, dropping temperatures back into the low 40s.

We’ll deal with the 40s throughout most of the week…. but we will be back to a more seasonable trend, with highs in the mid to upper 50s by next weekend!  Something to look forward to…  🙂

Happy Saturday!
