The winter pattern continues over the weekend with chilling temperatures. Today definitely felt like a winter day with a high of only 35° in Nashville. Tonight the low drops to the mid 20s for most areas.
Tomorrow, snow flurries are possible along southern Kentucky border and the Cumberland Plateau. Little to no accumulation is expected at this time. The most likely time for the snow is in the afternoon. Here’s the latest Futurescast.
Highs will run in the lower 40s through Sunday and lows will be in the low to mid 20s.
Monday we get a brief break as sunshine returns, along with a south wind, that will warm us to the mid 50s.
A fast moving clipper brings another cold blast next Tuesday. Again the Cumberland Plateau will see a chance of flurries, the rest of the mid state will see an increase and clouds and we all feel the cold air return.
Do remember these 3 P’s for winter weather. Protect people, check on your elderly neighbors and friends to make sure their heat is working. Also know that shelters are open for those in need of a warm place to stay. Protect pets, it’s too cold for pets to stay out all night, make sure they have a warm dry place to shelter. Protect pipes, burst pipes is not fun so cover exposed pipes and leave cabinet doors open.
Enjoy your weekend! I’ll have a weather update on News 4 at 10pm.
