Frost, Soon to be Replaced by Springtime Warmth & Storms

It’s frosty & cold this morning.  Brrrrr!  Look at this picture I took in our West Nashville parking lot around 6am today.

Temperatures are bordering on the 20s in spots…

The sky is clearing, to make for a sunny Tuesday!

Look at the sky from downtown Nashville now — beautiful!

This afternoon, with all the sunshine we expect, we’ll warm nicely to around 60 (vs. the high of 52 we had yesterday).

Showers return late tomorrow with the next weather system we’re watching, over the central Plains…

FUTURECAST shows that well.  Timing of showers (not thunderstorms) will be mainly during the afternoon and very early evening.

That system will move away on Thursday.  Then, Friday will turn windy and warm, and feel springlike!  Temperatures will soar to around 70.

As a cold front approaches from the west, rain and scattered thunderstorms will follow.  The big question is WHEN.  Timing is still very uncertain with that band of rain and storms.  It could be as early as dawn on Saturday to as late as sometime Saturday night.  The best we can do right now is to say plan for sometime Saturday for this main rain event and continue to check back with us often.  We’ll hopefully have a good handle on the expected timing in the next day or so.

I’ll be on News 4 at noon today, having taken a look at some new data.  It’s possible I’ll already have a better handle on how Saturday will go… please, join us!
