There’s so much going on for this first weekend of November! We have dense fog, a springlike feel in the air, more sleep tonight, and eventually rain.
Dense fog is the main headline this morning, hands down. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 9am.
Notice 4WARN Live Doppler Radar in fog tracking mode, below. Areas in red indicate visibility near zero. Orange signifies 1/2 mile. Yellow shows spots where there’s thin fog (visibility around 1 mile).
Clarksville’s dealing with fog….and mist/drizzle.
Nashville is as well, in spots.
Cookeville’s visibility as of 8:27am isn’t too bad though.
It certainly feels like spring, with lots of humidity and temperatures in the 60s even at this early hour.
By late this morning, the fog will be gone and sunshine will be peeking through in many areas. Temperatures will climb into the low-mid 70s by then. Late this afternoon, highs will be near 80 in spots!
As for rain, early this morning there are pockets of mist and drizzle with the fog. Later today, a few showers and thunderstorms will develop southwest of our area and move in. The rain chance is just 30% that any one of you is rained on then though. Even if it does rain, it’ll only last five or ten minutes.
Check out FUTURECAST. It sums up things well:
Looking for something fun to do today? There’s the “Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair” in the Gulch. Funny name, huh? The Turnip Green Festival is at the Nashville Farmers’ Market. There’s also the First Saturday Art Crawl on 5th Avenue tonight. PLUS….every local college and university’s football team is playing at home today.
Don’t forget to turn your clocks back an hour tonight. We get an extra hour of sleep, but will have a sunset tomorrow at 4:47pm. Winter’s coming soon!
Join Alan Frio & me on News 4 at 9am. We’ll talk about a better chance for rain just in time for next week to arrive. I’ll also show you when frost could return to Middle Tennessee.
Have a great weekend!
