The weekend is off to a warm start with the high reaching 74° today, 8° above the average early November day. Temperatures will be even warmer over the weekend with highs rising to near 80°, close to record warmth.
The day started off with some strong thunderstorms just in time for the commute to work. It was quite an electrical storm, with some extremely loud thunder. Check out these dark clouds looming over Independence High School in Thompson Station. The storms moved out fairly quickly and just a few lighter showers lingered later in the day.
The rest of the weekend looks fairly good for outdoor fun. Just a few spotty showers tomorrow with a high near 79°. Sunday will be near 80 for the high with only isolated showers in the forecast.
Another front moves toward the mid state next week that will increase our chance of rain and thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday. Cooler air will move in for the second half of the week, then you can get the sweaters out again.
I’ll have an update on News 4 at 10pm.
