October 29: Riding The Temperature Roller-Coaster

The cloud cover was awfully stubborn for much of the day, but we finally saw the sun break through in most places this afternoon.

Now that skies have cleared, temperatures will really drop off overnight.  We’ll end up near freezing by early Monday morning:

That has prompted a Freeze Warning for eastern Middle Tennessee, and a Frost Advisory along I-65:

After the cold start Monday, temperatures will warm up rapidly, into the mid 60s for highs by Monday afternoon:

A little cool-down arrives on Tuesday, with highs only in the upper 50s, but then warmer air makes its way back into the Midstate — highs will reach the mid 60s on Wednesday, then we’ll top out in the 70s Thursday through next weekend.  The warm air arrives with a decent amount of moisture, which means we’ll have to deal with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms Wednesday through Saturday:

Not a washout on any particular day, just a long stretch of unsettled weather.  It’s too soon to pin down any specific time windows of wetter or drier weather — we’ll get a better handle on the hour-by-hour timing over the next couple of days.
