Wintry air has invaded Middle Tennessee! The last two days felts springlike, with highs in the lower 70s. Today, many areas won’t get out of the 40s.
Outdoors early this morning (as of 8am), most areas have temperatures in the 30s!
With the wind, it feels even colder of course.
Rain continues to fall over eastern Middle Tennessee, as shown on 4WARN Live Doppler Radar.
Clouds are decreasing from west to east in the wake of the rain. Notice how all of western Middle Tennessee and much of the I-65 corridor is now in sunshine!
Throughout today, a light northwest wind will keep blowing cold air into our area. SO….temperatures will struggle to hit 50, even in Nashville. Check out highs this afternoon.
The rain will move off the Cumberland Plateau early this afternoon. There, clouds may remain all day. The rest of us will see some sunshine.
Tonight, temperatures will drop in the 20s and 30s, so we expect many areas of frost and even the first freeze of the season in some communities. You’ll definitely want to protect any sensitive plants that you care about for tonight’s expected cold…and tomorrow night’s too!
A Freeze Warning has been issued for West Tennessee and southwest Kentucky for tonight. We’ll likely have more warnings and/or advisories issued in time for tomorrow night, too.
Looking for something to do today? See the options below. For all, the theme is the same — you’ll want to dress warmly!
