Chilly air arrived overnight, the low at Nashville dropped to 49°. And what a day! It was sunny and breezy but cool…even a few degrees below the average at 67°. Tonight the low drops even lower to the upper 30s to low 40s. For some that means some patchy frost, especially in the Cumberland Plateau area.
The pattern for the first half of the week will include some chilly morning lows in the 40s and mild highs in the 70s. This is slightly below average for this time of year. The average high is 72, the average low is 49.
No rain is expected for the work week under this dome of high pressure. The morning lows will be in the 40s and afternoon highs rise into the upper 70s.
With these chilly morning temperatures, it reminds me that winter is just around the corner. The annual coat drive, Warm Coats from Warm Hearts is up and running. If you have a new or gently used coat to donate, you can drop if off at any Acceptance Insurance location or any Firestone location. And as always the Granny White Church of Christ has donation boxes set up. That is where the giveaway will be held in November.
I’ll have an update on the weather on News 4 at 10pm.
