Big changes are coming! After soggy weather Sunday from Tropical Storm Nate….and then more rain and thunderstorms yesterday, our weather’s finally about to improve!
Outdoors now, 4WARN Live Doppler Radar doesn’t show rain.
However, drizzle is falling in many communities. Drizzle actually rarely shows up on radar because it usually forms below the radar’s beam.
Clouds are lurking over the entire Mid State as of 10am.
They’ll try to break today, but will probably have trouble doing so. I only expect partial clearing over western Middle Tennessee this afternoon. Nashville will have difficulty getting into much sunshine at all. Eastern Middle Tennessee is likely to stay mostly cloudy for most of the afternoon, if not all of it.
Temperatures will be held down quite a bit today because of the clouds and a cooler airmass moving in from the west.
Another big weather change we expect today is with humidity. Drier air will gradually move in from the west. By tonight, you should feel a difference outdoors. Tomorrow and Friday will be much less muggy than the last several days….and finally feel like fall again!
Another reason you’ll want to zoom off to the store and go buy a pumpkin for the front porch is a nice drop in temperature! Both today and tomorrow, we expect highs in the mid 70s. Then, Friday, we’ll peak around 80.
Late summer warmth will return this weekend, as temperatures zoom back up into the middle 80s. Another cool down is expected by the beginning of next week.
Watch Paul Heggen at noon for an update on where sunshine’s developing. Lisa Spencer will give your her thoughts on the weekend this afternoon, starting at 4pm.
