TGIF! The weekend has arrived and the weather will be fabulous. Expect plenty of sunshine and cool crisp fall temperatures. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s and lows will be in the mid 50s.
This is the perfect weather for Friday night football. I would take a jacket and maybe a lap blanket as the cool night air will take over.
If the arts is more your thing, Shakespeare in the Park moves to Franklin at Academy Park with Antony and Cleopatra tonight and The Winter’s Tale Saturday and Sunday nights.
There are many other events this weekend including National Public Lands Day where 56 state parks will be offering ranger tours and opportunities for volunteers to help clean up. Check with your favorite park for information.
Temperatures will slowly warm up each day, but still staying well below 90…yay! No rain is expected through much of next week.
The tropics are still remaining very active. Maria and Lee are not an issue anymore as they move out into the Atlantic Ocean. However, there are two disturbances in the Caribbean Sea. The first in the northwest corner of the Caribbean. There is a 40% chance that this cluster of clouds and rain could develop next week. Conditions seem to be conducive for that development. The other tropical wave will produce some heavy rain in the Leeward Islands, but doesn’t show signs of further development at this time.
Paul Heggen is covering for me this evening and he will have the latest on our weather and the tropics.
