What a treat the weather was today. The morning was crisp and mild with a low of 63. This afternoon felt great with a high in the mid 80s and lower humidity. The dew points were only in the mid 50s…nice. This evening will be perfect for spending some time out of doors.
Tomorrow will be nice too, but it will be a little warmer and a little more humidity. Folks along the Cumberland Plateau and the southeast corner of Middle Tennessee may see a shower or two, but rain won’t be widespread.
Monday the humidity continues to increase, the afternoon temperatures will be in the mid 80s. There is a slight chance or rain and thunderstorms. An approaching system will bring the best chance for rain this week on Tuesday.
It looks as though we will not directly effected by the remnants of Hurricane Harvey this week but we will have a few showers in the forecast.
As I’m sure you heard Hurricane Harvey made landfall last night along the coast of Texas as a major Category 4 Hurricane. The storm has weaken to a Tropical Storm but it still brings the threat of devastating flooding to the Lone Star state. Harvey is barely moving and will drench southeast Texas with 15-30″ of rain and some spots could see 40″ of rain. To compare, in 2010, Nashville received 13.57″ of rain over two days and the flooding was tremendous.
I’ll have an update on News 4 at 5pm, 6pm and 10pm.
Happy weekend,
Lisa Spencer
