All eyes are on the tropics with Hurricane Harvey! Treading warm waters in the Gulf, Harvey has upgraded to (8:45 am) a Category 2 hurricane, likely strengthening into a Category 3 hurricane as it makes landfall late tonight into early Saturday morning. Life-threatening storm surge, flooding and hurricane force winds make this a major hurricane, with significant impacts. Mandatory evacuations are in order for areas alongside or close to the coastline. Latest forecast models point towards an east northeast turn Sunday overnight into Monday, as the hurricane is expected to weaken into a Tropical Storm. daphne harvey TROPICAL FORECAST
