Today’s weather would have you checking the calendar. Is it really August? It doesn’t feel like it. The afternoon high reached 84 today, 5° below the average. It was the humidity that really made the difference. Simply stunning day! Love it!
Tonight with a mostly clear sky, you should get a good glimpse at the waxing crescent Moon and the planet Jupiter. Look to the west after sunset.
This trend will last several more days. Enjoy! Lots of sunshine and below average temperatures, plus low humidity for August. Sunday I will mention a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms, but for most of us, it will be dry. Monday temperatures remain low, but a weak disturbance will trigger some showers and thunderstorms across the area.
Folks in Texas are about to get soaked as Hurricane Harvey continues to intensify and move northwestward in the Gulf of Mexico. It is forecasted to become a Category 3 hurricane before it makes landfall late Friday. Coastal areas could get 10″-15″ of rain.
The remnants of Harvey are likely to bring rain here to Middle Tennessee by late next week.
I’ll have an update on Harvey and the weather here on News 4 at 10pm.
