It was fun to see some cute photos of children getting ready for their first day of school. Even though it’s time to hit the books again, summer’s heat and humidity is still in full force on this first day of August.
The high reached 87° today, 3° shy of the average high for this time of year. High clouds moved in and kept the temperatures from climbing higher. Humidity was on the rise today. It was enough to allow a few isolated showers and thunderstorms to develop.

The rest of tonight will be mostly cloudy and warm. Tomorrow and Thursday, the ingredients come together for spotty showers and thunderstorms. It will be a little more humid too.
A front will move in on Friday that will set the stage for the best chance of rain and thunderstorms this week. The good news…at this time they are not expected to be severe. Here’s the latest Futurecast depiction.
The prize comes over the weekend again. Saturday should be mostly sunny with lower humidity and below average temperatures. Sunday will be nice too, but a few showers are likely to move in before the day is over.
I’ll have an update on News 4 at 10pm.
