We’re talking extreme heat and humidity…again today! I feel like a broken record. 🙂
Current temps are close to our average daytime high and it’s only 9:23 AM!
Daytime highs will peak into the upper 90s, about ten degrees ABOVE average. Then factor in the mugginess, here’s what it will really feel like this afternoon. Much of the same tomorrow.
Heat Advisory remains in effect for all areas under the ORANGE color through 7 PM Saturday…
Here’s a temperature breakdown for Saturday and Sunday.
Notice, not AS hot on Sunday and it all has do with an approaching system currently over the central plains. Spotty showers and storms are possible on Saturday but the better chance for clouds, rain and storms arrive on Sunday, mainly a second half of the day event.
The Storm Prediction Center has a ‘Marginal Risk’ (level 1 out of 5) for any storm to reach severe criteria. Damaging winds will be the greatest threat with some of the stronger storms.
Showers and storms stick around on Monday before spotty storms linger into Tuesday. This is fantastic news for those that are ready for a break from the heat! Seasonable upper 80s return by early next week.
Meteorologist Paul Heggen will have updates on the timing of storms this weekend at noon. be sure and join Chief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer for the latest at 4, 5, 6 and 10 tonight!
