The Heat is On

Temperatures building this week in typical summer fashion, it is July! The high today reached 93° in Nashville this afternoon.

Almanac

Fortunately the dew points were in the mid 60s but they will rise to the 70s later this week. 70s is oppressive on the muggy meter.

High pressure is dominating our weather this week.  That means heat and more humidity by Wednesday.  Enough to produce a few showers Wednesday mainly south of I-40.  There will be a few more showers and thunderstorms by Thursday, but not a wash out.

Friday, there’s a great chance of rain and thunderstorms as a disturbance moves in from the northwest. It will be in the 90s during the afternoon each day.

WSMV 4DAY FORECAST

With the heat in place this week be sure to hydrate. If you work outside, take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.  Also, we have had too many stories already this year about children being left in cars.  Please check the back seat.

  1. Fred says:

Not to nitpick, but the almanac data for the year of the highest temp and maximum precipitation is erroneous. It should be 1930 (instead of 1993) and 1.25″ (1941).

  2. Lisa Spencer says:

Yes, you are correct. That graphic is automatically generated from a data base, so it much be keyed in wrong in the source our weather data vendor is using. Thanks for letting me know.
