This has not been the greatest weather for outdoor fun this holiday weekend. Since Saturday Middle Tennessee has had heavy rain that produced flash flooding and gusty winds. 1″ to 3″ of rain in a short period of time was common.
An upper level low will rotate over Middle Tennessee tonight and tomorrow keeping a chance or rain and a few thunderstorms in the area.
The latest models indicate it’s possible that the rain will be out in time for the “Let Freedom Ring” fireworks display in Nashville. That is good news.
Here is the latest Futurecast model depiction.
Another upper level system moves through Wednesday and Thursday with more rain and thunderstorms. Afternoon temperatures will remain in the upper 80s to near 90. Next weekend is looking much better than this past weekend. A front will likely move through dropping the humidity. Saturday we could see some spotty showers, but Sunday looks dry right now.
I’ll have an update on Channel 4 News at 10pm
