The 4th of July holiday weekend is upon us! It looks very good for weather all in all. That said, there will be some times of rain and heavy downpours.
Outdoors on this Saturday morning, it’s bright in most areas. Some clouds are nearing the I-65 corridor however, from the west.
It’s very humid…and quite warm already (as of 8am)!
4WARN Live Doppler Radar doesn’t show much of anything now…just a few showers over southwest Kentucky.
Additional rain and energy moving toward us from Arkansas are good indicators we’ll have widely scattered showers and thunderstorms developing later today here in the Mid State.
Some thunderstorms that do develop could become strong-severe especially over eastern Middle Tennessee. There, there’s a marginal-slight threat for a few damaging wind gusts and a storm or two with dime to quarter size hail.
FUTURECAST for later today shows how storms will form up, especially during the afternoon.
SO….don’t change plans. Just remain weather aware through using the free WSMV and 4WARN Weather apps. They’re fantastic…and will ensure you get any watches/warnings. You can also check on 4WARN Live Doppler Radar whenever you like via either app.
Temperatures this afternoon will peak in the upper 80s for most.
Looking ahead, tomorrow has the lowest rain chance of the days this holiday break. Tuesday looks pretty good, too!
