Pattern Change in Time for 4th of July Holiday Weekend

Count ’em up — three absolutely beautiful days in a row!  It’s not often that happens when July is right around the corner but that’s what we’ve been able to enjoy, beginning this past Sunday.  Humidity has been low.  Meanwhile, temperatures have remained at reasonable levels allowing most everyone to be able to enjoy spending quite a bit of time outdoors!

Sunshine is with us now and will remain in control until it sets tonight just after 8 PM.  Sure it’s warm outdoors, but unless you’re in direct sunlight it feels very pleasant! Take a look at temperatures as of 5PM…

The weather will cooperate perfectly for the Nashville Sounds home baseball game tonight at First Tennessee Park.  Head on down there if you want a night of fun & good baseball with beautiful weather!

Low humidity is contributing to the very nice feel outdoors.  Dewpoint temperatures are running in the 50s again today!

Tomorrow expect low humidity again but it will be noticeably warmer with high temperatures approaching 90 in many communities.

Then, higher humidity will race back in for Thursday and linger for the upcoming holiday weekend.  Speaking of….showers and thunderstorms will become more likely as we transition into the weekend.  The reason is we’ll see a change in the wind pattern in the upper atmosphere.  Notice how the rain chance will ramp upward, gradually.

Considering taking a trip to the beach this weekend?  Weather looks excellent there, with highs in the upper 80s, high humidity (as you’d expect), and a 30% chance for pop-up showers and storms in any one given area.

Coming up on Channel 4 News at 6pm and 6:30pm, we’ll have much more detail on how the weather will evolve through the upcoming holiday weekend.  Join us!
