4 Things to Know About Our Weather

There are 4 things to know about our upcoming weather to ensure you’re prepared for the week.  They are….

1) Cooler air’s settling in for tonight.

After many very warm and muggy nights, we have a change in store for tonight!  High pressure’s moving in from the north right now.  That’s helping to scour out the clouds, in the wake of yesterday’s and this morning’s rain.

A new airmass is being ushered in on a northerly wind, which will make it easier on your AC tonight….and allow some of you to sleep with the windows open overnight, while remaining comfortable.  This is the way our temperatures should look as the sun rises tomorrow.

2) Lower humidity’s in store for tomorrow.

With this new airmass, much less humid air’s filtering in.  Notice dew points now.

When dew points are in the 50s during summertime, the air is relatively dry.  The entire area will get to enjoy that feeling tomorrow, as dew points will be in the 50s across all of Middle Tennessee.

3) No rain for a couple of days.

After a very unsettled last 24 hours, no rain is in sight for the next two days. That means, we’ll usher in the official start to summer tomorrow with lots of sunshine!

4) Tropical downpours arrive late this week.

Right now, we’re watching two systems in the tropics.  One is near the Yucatan Peninsula, showing promising signs of getting more organized by midweek.

As that system lifts toward the north, it’ll send deep tropical moisture up and into Middle Tennessee.  That means a decent chance for rain and thunderstorms, some with tropical downpours, will return by Thursday.

Coming up on Channel 4 News this afternoon and this evening beginning at 4pm, we’ll talk more about what this tropical moisture means not just for the end of the week…but also this coming weekend.  We hope you join us!
