Weekend Weather and Happenings

After a rainy day, the rest of the weekend will be FANTASTIC!  Some spots got more than their fair share of rain, in a stretch from Cross Plains to Bethpage 4″-5″ was estimated on radar. This caused some flooding around Bethpage Elementary early this morning. The showers and sprinkles will linger into the evening.  They will exit overnight. Clouds will move out west to east through the morning, making for great weather for all the outdoor activities tomorrow.

Here are a few of the events happening.

Musicians Corner is in Centennial Park this evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It continues Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. Get ready for a lot of music and delicious treats from area food trucks.

The Iroquois Steeplechase is this Saturday at Percy Warner Park. It’s a day of horse racing and fun in Nashville. There are areas for families and tailgating. Big fancy hats are encouraged. Iroquois Steeplechase is a fundraiser for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Tune in tomorrow morning for a preview on Channel 4 News Today starting at 5am.

The Franklin Farmers Market hosts the strawberry festival from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in their usual spot behind the Factory at Franklin. There will be fun and games, homemade strawberry shortcakes and a loads of sweet, juicy strawberries.

Sunday is Mother’s Day.  Don’t forget your Mom. The weather will be nice and warm.

Things look great for the beginning of next week too, especially if you like warm weather, afternoon highs will soar to the mid to upper 80s.

Although the Predators playoff parties being held outside today are rather soggy, things look much better Sunday.

  • Back in Nashville, the Plaza Party will begin at 7:30 p.m. outside Bridgestone Arena, featuring a big screen and food and drinks
  • Preds Party in the Park: Game will be shown on large screen at Music City Walk of Fame Park. Party starts at 3:30 p.m.
