May 12: Wet Friday, Nice Weekend!

We’re seeing widespread rain across the Midstate this morning, and off-and-on showers and a few non-severe storms are going to be with us throughout the day.  The HRRR model’s radar simulation shows the trend throughout the day — showers dwindling, but keep the umbrella handy all day, just in case:

Temperatures won’t warm up much, only reaching the low 70s in between showers:

The rain will taper off this evening and tonight, and the weekend is looking very nice!  A few clouds early Saturday, otherwise abundant sunshine and pleasant temperatures will prevail.  Highs will reach the mid 70s tomorrow:

Northerly winds around 10-15 mph will try to blow off all the ladies’ hats at Steeplechase, so plan accordingly!

We’ll hit the low 80s on Sunday after a cool start to Mother’s Day:

Next week’s nationwide weather pattern shows a big northward bulge in the jet stream (the main storm track for North America):

That means we’ll warm back up to the upper half of the 80s next week, with increasing humidity as well:

No nerd-links today — I’m working on a fun little Preds-related project you’ll see on social media before the game this evening!  (Assuming I get it finished…)
